CALL FOR AN APPOINTMENT TIME NOW!
You will be given a cold-reading at the time of your audition. Arrive 15 minutes early to prepare. Please bring your resume and photo (or snapshot). Cold-readings will be videotaped. Later, a panel of judges will help select the top ten or twelve finalists and scholarship winner. Notification of acceptance by March 1.
FORMAT: The finalists will have a session for orientation/rehearsal.
A different casting director will be our guest for the five or six remaining evenings.
(One extra date is included for back-up). Students are given sides to prepare and rehearse.
The guest casting director will direct each student in successful audition techniques. They will use scripts from projects they have worked on or cast. A discussion period will follow. (It is recommended but not mandatory that students have 8 by 10 photos). Five professional resumes with attached photo/snapshot will be required of all finalists -- one per casting director. These must be brought to rehearsal for approval.
GOALS: Our goal is to make you more comfortable, confident, and proficient in cold-reading auditions for theater, films, series, pilots, or soap operas by letting you work with and meet the very professionals who cast these projects. The atmosphere is relaxed but earnest. We want serious input and positive, constructive critiques. Previous guests have included the primetime and daytime drama casting directors for ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, The CW, and Nickelodeon, the film casting offices of Warner Brothers, Universal, Paramount, & Disney, and prestigious Broadway and film independent casting offices. |
