- The Summer Application serves to identify your background, goals, and interests. Click on this link to take you to the form, which can be printed directly from your computer screen. Take as much space as you need to answer the questions (use the back or add additional pages if necessary).
- Your photo (include a headshot and a resume if you have one, but a simple small color or black and white candid snapshot is fine). Photos are for identification purposes only.
- A a non-refundable application fee of $25.00 made payable to “ACTeen” .

The audition
- Please prepare to perform two memorized contemporary monologues from any source. Each monologue should be no longer than 1- to 2-minute max. You will asked to announce your selection (play/source and character name is sufficient information). If requested the Teen Director can supply a monologue for you to do as a cold-reading. (see our website under "Links" for suggestions on finding appropriate monologue material.
- Students interested in our Musical Theater course should prepare 16 bars of a musical theater solo (students must perform without piano accompaniment), and one audition monologue. Students who are not interested in MT do not have to sing!
- The interview. This is a perfect time to discuss your application, answer your questions, etc.
“Note: If you are unable to visit NYC to audition and you are applying for June, July or August Academies please refer to the Long Distance Application Information page for details on submitting a letter of recommendation, monologues via DVD, or to arrange a Skype or video chat audition.
Application Timetable
Completed summer applications (including application form, photo/resume, and fee) may be mailed November through July, but Summer Academy students are encouraged to apply early, for best placement and possible housing opportunities. (Summer Housing is not available for students under 17). In addition, early registration discounts may apply. Check each program page for specific savings through March 1.
If you are applying after May 1, review our programs carefully, then CALL to set an audition time appointment. Application and photo/fee must be brought to the scheduled appointment.
We usually notify all applicants of their status within ten days. Acceptance requires an immediate deposit of 50% (half) of total tuition, with balance due by deadline. Applicants who apply after May 1 typically pay full tuition upon acceptnace.
