Location and Transportation

ACTeen occupies the entire sixth floor of an office building located at 35 West 45th St., between Fifth and Sixth Avenues, and home of the Weist-Barron School and Casting Service. (Sixth Avenue is also known as Avenue of the Americas.) We are located in Midtown Manhattan just west of Fifth Avenue and east of the Broadway Theater District. All subways that stop at 42nd St (east side “Lexington Avenue” and “Grand Central Station,” west side “42nd Street/Broadway“) are a short walk to the studios. ACTeen is two and a half avenues east and three blocks north of the Port Authority Bus Terminal (about a 15-minute walk). Pennsylvania Station is a bit farther (about half a mile due south) but still within walking distance (or various buses will take you uptown on Sixth Ave./Avenue of the Americas). We are in a tow-away zone, so driving is not recommended, but if you do come by car there are parking garages on 44th St. or 46th St.

Housing

ACTeen does not maintain living quarters for its students. ACTeen can provide names of affordable college dormitories or student housing companies in Manhattan that have accommodated our students in the past. Referrals are provided as a courtesy to students and parents. ACTeen assumes no responsibility for students’ welfare outside of our studios. Students relocating from out of state for our summer academy should be mature, responsible individuals, aged 17 or above, able to navigate and thrive in a cosmopolitan environment like New York City. Suggestions are not endorsements or recommendations. Parents should contact the facilities directly to inquire about staff personnel, security, nighttime or weekend social events, access to public transportation, and the like. While some facilities may be within walking distance to ACTeen, other facilities may require students to arrange their own public transportation to our studios.

Plan to secure housing early, as demand in New York City is high. Most facilities will fill by late spring.
