The ACTeen July Academy is a four-week program beginning July 9 and ending August 2, 2012.
Courses meet Mondays through Thursdays, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. – 4:30 or 5:00 p.m. Students may select one, two, three or up to eight unique courses. Sixteen different courses are offered. Students also have the choice of several full time programs within the July Academy, which meet four days per week, up to eight hours per day. Courses cost $350 with various discounts for taking full programs or mulitple courses. Register by March 1 and SAVE on tuition with our 'Early Registration Discounts'!!

Registration Information
TO APPLY: Please see the summer admissions page for information regarding required Summer Application, application fee ($25), photo, monologue requirements and information on scheduling an audition appointment. Students should first submit their completed Summer Application (including photo, application fee) prior to requesting a New York City audition. The application has a section to note preferred audtion dates. You need JavaScript enabled to view it to schedule a time and date for a personal interview audition. (Alumni do not have to re-audition). After May 1 application materials may be brought directly to the audition to save processing time.
AUDITION INTERVIEWS: held weekday afternoons or Saturdays. Call for an appointment.
Prospective students who cannot travel to New York City because they live outside the tri-state area are “Long Distant Applicants” and should refer to ACTeen’s long distance applicant information page for additional requirements to their submitted application. Many auditions may now be conducted via videochat software such as "Skype."
AUDITION REQUIREMENTS: Students should prepare one or two contemporary monologues from any source. Monologues should be one to two minutes in length and memorized. Students interested in our Musical Theater Workshop should prepare 16 bars of a musical theater solo (students must perform without piano accompaniment) and one monologue only. See our "Links" page for suggestions on finding appropriate audition material.
ACCEPTANCE NOTIFICATION: Students accepted into the summer program are formally notified by mail within two weeks of their audition date, and within ten days after May 1.
IF ACCEPTED: Students must return the completed registration form, a deposit of 50% (half) of total tuition, and a $25 non-refundable application fee (if unpaid) within two weeks of acceptance letter to secure placement. Cash, personal checks, or money orders are acceptable. (NO CREDIT CARDS) (Please make checks payable to “ACTeen”). Please do not send cash through the mail. Students accepted after May 1 must pay tuition in full when submitting their registration form.
DISCOUNTS: ALL Full Programs are discounted for registration by March 1, 2012. (Registration assumes successful application/auditon and acceptance. Registrationi requires tuition deposit). Apply early and SAVE!
In, addition: ACTeen offers a MULTIPLE COURSE DISCOUNT. Students taking 3 workshops (but not in Full Programs) deduct $25. Students taking 4 or more workshops deduct $50! Full programs include discounted rates.
BALANCES DUE: For all registered July Academy students BALANCE OF TUITION IS DUE MAY 1. Students who register after May 1 pay tuition in full. Students with balances outstanding after June 1 may forfeit deposit and reservation for programs.
LATE REGISTRATION: We continue to interview/audition after May 1. However, students whose registration forms are received after May 1 pay tuition in full upon acceptance. All workshops fill in order of deposits received, and we regret we cannot hold a space for any student without timely payment of tuition deposit.
CANCELLATION POLICY: July Academy cancellation requests must be received in writing, signed by a parent or guardian, and arrive by May 1 to receive a full tuition refund (less non-refundable application fee). Cancellation requests received after May 1 but before May 15th receive a 25% (of total tuition) refund. No refunds or credits after May 15th or after classes have begun for any reason. This policy is firm and necessary to maintain our small class composition.
Note: Tuition paid after June 15 must be paid by bank check, money order, or cash.
Note: We have a $20 fee for returned checks, which require an immediate cash or money order replacement.
