The ACTeen August Academy is a two week program beginning August 6 and ending August 17, 2012. 
Six courses are offered.
Four “primary” or foundation courses meet four times per week: Mondays through Thursdays. Students must attend all four days, for eight sessions, over two weeks.
Two or more additional “elective” or supplementary courses meet on two Fridays August 10, and August 17th. Students must attend both Fridays, August 10th and August 12th.
Courses meet 9:00 a.m.. to 5 p.m.
Students have several choices of programs
within the August Academy, including:

ACTeen August Friday Only Program
Students take two courses, attending two full Fridays over two weeks. (note: other courses are offered Monday through Thursdays!). At enrollment students select a first and second choice. To balance enrollment students may be placed in either elective, but every effort is made to fulfill first choice.
Friday August 10 and August 17. 9 AM – 5 PM. Lunch period both Fridays 12:30-1:30 PM.

FEES: Two week Full Program: $1925/$2050 depending on before/after March 1.

Individual Course Rate--Courses: $350 each.
PRIVATE COACHING: Arranged through the ACTeen Director only. Fee: $100 per hour.

After May 1 application materials may be brought to the scheduled audition appointment to speed processing. Auditions are held at ACTeen, 35 West 45th St., 6th floor, New York, NY, 10036. Feel free to contact us with any questions. (NOTE: Alumni do not have to re-audition for summer courses).
AUDITION INTERVIEWS are held weekday afternoons or Saturdays.
Prospective students who cannot travel to New York City because they live outside the tri-state area are “Long Distant Applicants” and should refer to ACTeen’s long distance applicant information page for additional requirements to their submitted application. Additionally, video conference or "Skype" interview auditions may be substituted if time and distance are prohibitive for on site meetings.
AUDITION REQUIREMENTS: Students should prepare one or two contemporary monologues from any source. Monologues should be one to two minutes in length and memorized. Students interested in our Musical Theater Workshop should prepare 16 bars of a musical theater solo (students must perform without piano accompaniment and one monologue. The "Links" section of our web site offers suggestions on finding age appropriate audition material.
ACCEPTANCE NOTIFICATION: Students accepted into the summer program are formally notified by mail within two weeks of their audition date; sooner after May 1rst.
IF ACCEPTED: Students must return the completed August Registration Form, (see "Forms") a deposit of 50% (half) of total tuition, and a $25 non-refundable application fee (if unpaid) within ten days of acceptance letter to secure placement. Cash, personal checks, or money orders are acceptable. (NO CREDIT CARDS) (Please make checks payable to “ACTeen Inc.”). Please do not send cash through the mail.
DISCOUNTS:
REGISTER EARLY AND SAVE. The six or four course programs have discounted tuition through March 1. Register early and save on your tuition! (assumes successful application and audition, with acceptance and payment of required tuition deposit.)
ACTeen offers a MULTIPLE COURSE DISCOUNT. Students taking 3 workshops (but not in Full Programs) deduct $25. Students taking 4 or more workshops deduct $50! Full programs include discounts.
BALANCES DUE: For all registered August Academy students BALANCE OF TUITION IS DUE MAY 1. Students may still register after May 1, but must pay full tuition at registration. Students with balances outstanding after June 1 may forfeit deposit and reservation for programs.
LATE REGISTRATION: Students may still apply after May 1. Accepted applicants whose registration forms are received after May 1 must pay tuition in full. All workshops fill in order of deposits received, and we regret we cannot hold a space for any student without timely payment of tuition deposit.
CANCELLATION POLICY: August Academy cancellation requests must be received in writing, signed by a parent or guardian, and arrive by May 1 to receive a full tuition refund (less non-refundable application fee). No refunds or credits after May 1 or after classes have begun for any reason. This policy is firm and necessary to maintain our small class composition.
Note: Tuition paid after June 15 must be paid by bank check, money order, or cash.
